As the presidential election goes underway in Sierra Leone, a combined team of security operatives, led by members of the Sierra Leone police force and the Sierra Leone army, have intercepted gang of 27 led by a local APC official, Ibrahim Kamara at Lumley roundabout in Freetown.
Sierraloaded learnt that the arrested gang were caught in a pick up van with guns, machete, and several other offensive weapons.
It was further gathered that the gangsters fired several gunshots at the security operatives but for the timely intervention of the military men, they were suppressed and arrested.
However, Kamara said while he was being forced into an Police van that his arrest was to pave the way for the oppositon Sierra Leone People’s party to win the election by stopping him from performing his duties as his party’s collation agent.
As at the press time of filling this report, normalcy has been restored to the area as the men of the police force were seen trying to maintain peace.
