SLPP flag bearer aspirant, Julius Maada Bio, has called on his supporters and Sierra Leoneans to come out in their numbers and register “Pa-O-Pa” for 2018 elections.
The voter registration process will commence in February, run by the Civil Registration Authority, as part of the 2018 electoral process.
During his flag bearer campaign trip to Moyamba on Friday, Bio said they have been cheated in the census data and so this should not be repeated. Therefore, people above 18-years must come out and register. He stated that he has great ideas for the development of the country and this he can achieve if the people register and vote for him, “overwhelmingly”.
Bio maintained that the 2018 elections is for the SLPP and one way this can be achieved is when all the members of the Party come together. He urged other flag bearer aspirants to allow peace in the Party and for them to “subject themselves to the Constitution of the Party”.
He said, “SLPP does not belong to me. The Party is bigger than all of us. I want to again extend the olive branch to Alliance members to take all matters out of court and talk peace for the greater good of Sierra Leone”.
In his statement, the SLPP District Chairman, Smart Senesie, said Moyamba is the maternal home of Bio; it means the District is going to boost Bio come 2018.
Senesie said the APC government promised them light but that project has been abandoned. He added though road construction is going on most of the work is being done in Tonkolili District.
On Saturday, at the opening of the Party office in Moyamba, Bio said the upgrading of the office shows that the district executive is ready for the next government.
He said on behalf of himself and the Party they will work very hard to ensure that they form the next government.
The Acting Chairman of the SLPP, Prince Harding, said it’s is a unique opportunity for an opposition party to open a well-decorated office with internet facility.
