Sierra Leone’s elected Vice- President, Alhaji Chief Samuel Sam Sumana has returned to his Accra base, following a successful medical checkup in Europe, says report by Global Times.
Chief Sumana left the country in October for Accra, Ghana after the Supreme Court had sanctioned his “unconstitutional and unlawful” sacking by President Ernest Bai Koroma.
VP Sumana who left Accra few weeks ago for medical checkup in Europe has now returned as fit as a fiddle.
Before his controversial sacking, the elected Vice President was severally prevented from travelling abroad to seek medical consultation even at his own expense.
In one instance, his wife, Mrs. Khadija Sam Sumana had to carry blood and other specimens to a US based doctor to establish the cause of her husband’s ill health and to mine the right treatment for him.
Chief Sumana told Global Times from his Accra base last night that he was now fully fit. He refused to comment on his supposed plan to appeal at the ECOWAS Court in Abuja and his next political move.
“At the appropriate time, I will inform Sierra Leoneans on the latest development”, Chief Sam Sumana said.
President Koroma controversially sacked the elected Vice- President in March after his governing APC had expelled him on allegations of anti- party activities.
