Heavy armed gangs of uprooted individuals this afternoon attacked and vandalized properties value millions of Leones at the headquarter of the opposition Alliance Democratic Party office on No.13 Rawdon Street in Freetown.
The lumpen were armed with offensive weapons and were engaged in throwing stones and broken bottles at the office during business hours for over one hour and no arrest has been made so far.
An executive member of the Alliance Democratic Party, Saidu Kalokoh was stabbed, physically assaulted and maliciously wounded with a knife by the David Gbla.
The gangs were led by David Gbla who was relieved of his duty on 2nd October 2015 for anti-party activities, fermenting violence and for disobeying the leadership of the party.
David Gbla came to the office on Tuesday May 3, 2016 to upgrade a forged party card he was holding. He boastfully threatened to disrupt the ADP party convention scheduled for Friday May 6, 2016.
ADP wish to inform the general public that David Gbla is a sympathizer of the ruling All People’s Congress party (ADP) and that he is no longer a member of the ADP.
The national chairman and leader of the ADP has reported the matter to the Central Police Division and the matter is presently under investigation.
Meanwhile, Saidu Kalokoh is currently responding to treatment at the Connaught Hospital. “We want to assure the general membership of the party that no person(s) can disrupt our convention,” said Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray.
ADP wish to emphatically state that irrespective of the attacks, the party will go ahead with its convention as planned on May 6th and May 7th 2016.
