A middle-aged woman, Yealie Sama, yesterday, appeared in Court on allegations of killing her husband, Alhaji Mustapha Sama, just one month after their wedding.

Yealie and Sama got married on 5th March 2017 at Kissy Brook, in Freetown. On 3rd April 2017, she allegedly killed him.

According to reports, on the date of the incident the accused and her husband had a bitter argument wherein the deceased called the accused a mad woman and in retaliation the accused used a kitchen knife and stabbed her husband to death.

Yealie was arrested on 10th April 2017 and after thorough investigations she was charged with murder.

On Tuesday 2nd May 2017, Yealie made her first appearance before presiding Magistrate Binneh Kamara. The accused was not represented by legal counsel and was prosecuted by Police Constable 16646 Christiana Davies-Cole.

Preliminary investigations will continue on 10th March 2017, and the accused was remanded at the Female Correctional Centre.
