Sierra Leone and Seattle Sounders FC striker, Victor Mansaray, has been called-up to the United States of America U-20 team for the Dallas Cup, which will run from 20-26 March.
Mansaray is one of five forwards selected to play in the Dallas Cup, a massive youth invitational tournament that features teams from across the world.
The 19-year-old’s inclusion came as no surprise as he has had several calls to the youth national team at various levels and most recently he attended the U-20 January camp in Miami.
Mansaray’s inclusion, out of nine forwards at the camp, is seen as a good sign for the striker who could possibly get the nod in the national team for the U-20 World Cup.
The US team, as part of the Gordon Yago Super Group (the top teams), will take on squads from Fulham FC, the Bundesliga’s Hoffenheim, and Liga MX’s Monterrey in group play.
“The Dallas Cup will provide us a great opportunity to see all of these players in meaningful international games,” said Ramos. “We will see which players stand out and what combination of players work well together as we build towards U-20 WC Qualifying in early 2017.”
