Over one thousand young people in the lower Ngiebu section, Ward 22, in Jawei Chiefdom, Kailahun District have declared their support for the ruling All People’s Congress party (APC). A brief meeting and ceremony was held at the Nyeama Community Barry.
Speaking on behalf of the youths, Abdulai Sannoh, said “We decided to throw our support to the APC as a result of marginalization and the lack of consideration by the SLPP party executive in Constituency 006. He point out that they were not consulted nor involved in the last census for the lower level election. Sannoh added, “We have been out of development for far too long. The Jawei Chiefdom is deprived from all forms of development. Our Member of Parliament has failed us.”
In her statement, the Chairlady for APC in Nyeama, Massah Massaquoi, said, “As women, we have declared for the APC in order to assist them. We need a party that will address the concerns of women.”
Samuel Sesay, the APC Constituency 006 Chairman, thanked the youths of lower Ngiebu section and the Nyeama community for embracing the APC. He said, “The APC party will continue to protect their membership and enhance development in their communities.”
Former MP, Robin Fallay, maintained the APC party does not discriminate against anybody who wants to join them. He added that the Party stands for development for the people especially in neglected areas.
