The UN General Assembly in New York started on 19th September 2015 and is expected to end on 1st December 2015. Many people are wondering why a poor country like Sierra Leone is sending a fifty-member delegation to the United Nations.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) recently predicted that Sierra Leone’s economy will contract by 21% before the end of this year.

“Some of these people have nothing to do at the UN General Assembly… So why take them to New York? asked a senior opposition Politician.

Some members of the delegation have already arrived in New York, according to a reliable source at the Sierra Leone Mission in New York.
