We have cause to recall the debate in Sierra Leone some time ago as to whether a law should be passed legitimizing the activities of gays and lesbians.
For the record: A ‘gay’ is any person who indulges in the belief (s) that there is nothing morally or religiously wrong with a man making love to a man; or a woman having sex with another woman.
Although it is really difficult to understand or draw a line on how a man could arouse the sexual feelings of another man and be satisfied with the result, beats the imagination of most liberals and conventional people who believe or accept the simple rule of nature that male and female are compatible unlike male to male or female to female which is most certainly incompatible with Christian and Muslim doctrines as well as being highly unacceptable in scores of countries, communities and societies across the globe.
Therefore it comes more very encouraging and affirmative to hear none other than the ‘very controversial’ President of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe, saying inter alia that: “Even Satan is not gay; because if he was, he did not approach Adam who was in his naked, but approached Eve…” Critics or supporters of gay rights could argue that no one knows whether Satan is male or female.
However, this argument would be short-lived because, the reality is that ‘God made man in his own image,’ and if we are to assume that God made the angels including Lucifer, who was God’s most beloved of the angels and called ‘Son of the Morning,’ then we can also safely assume that Satan was created a male.
Africa as a whole is known for its traditional and cultural roles in marriage between a man and a woman. We at THE TRUMPET stand to be corrected but we are sure that nowhere on the African continent has marriage (or even a secret affair) between a man and another man, or between a woman and another woman been encouraged, let alone it becoming an issue of discussion or public debate.
It is a fact that all of this gay rights business is a tradition of the West, the reason why God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.
They say history repeats itself and this is what precisely the West seems intent on making repeat in Africa: The Sodom and Gomorrah infamy.
It is for this reason why many people who read President Robert Mugabe’s posting on social media on his stance against gay rights, are of the opinion that the Zimbabwean President hit the right chord and those who were in tacit or active support of such an obnoxious and abominable behavior (gay) are now rethinking.
Of course, there are always those so-called non-governmental organizations that are always ready to support and make noise about any ‘rubbish’ rights brought to Africa as long as they are paid pittance in US Dollars.
They (our colleague Africans) would go out of their way to hammer home their misguided beliefs based on what they were told to disseminate by their benefactors in the West.
Then of course, you have the western financiers who demand the promulgation into law of certain rights including gay rights before they extend funding.
This too is what President Mugabe is totally against because a foreign force cannot dictate to Africans how they should live their lives. The money doesn’t matter.
Perhaps it is all of this which President Mugabe saw; the reason he is taking the bull by the horns and making such a description of the gay situation as far as he is concerned. We believe Sierra Leone too must follow President Mugabe’s path.
