Whether it as a result that nobody is qualified for the awards or that the Fountain of Honour who is also the President of Sierra Leone deems it fit not to dish awards this year.
Salone Times has learnt that there will be no Presidential Awards and honour for this Independent Anniversary
Sources very close to State House have informed Salone Times that there will be no award and honour given to any Sierra Leonean this year as the President is only expected to make an Independence Speech.
It is also believed that President after delivering his speech will spend his independence day in Port Loko District in the Northern Part of Sierra Leone.
Also there will be no traditional lanterns this year on the eve of the Independence day but the normal masquerades are expected parade the streets on independence day 27th April, 2016.
The President’s Speech is expected to talk about the resilient of Sierra Leone in the fight against Ebola and the national Ebola recovery plan of his government to get Sierra Leone back on the track.
