Ramatu Wurie, a beauty Queen and top Sierra Leonean model, started her career here in Sierra Leone as a young girl participating in a beauty contest. Her first show which brought her to the limelight was winning the Miss Independence 2008 Crown.
She continued contesting for several beauty crowns but was not very lucky in winning crowns. As the saying goes, we all find ourselves to do best where our actual talents lie. She then concentrated on modelling. Making the pages of several fashion magazines and modelling for several fashion houses, Ramatu rose to the next top model in Sierra Leone.
With perseverance she climbed many steps and broke many barriers as she progressed with her career, caring less what people think. With determination to succeed and make it big in her career, she relocated to Nigeria which is the biggest fashion zone in West Africa. She was then signed by a top modelling company. Since then she has excelled in her career and has kept progressing.
Her greatest joy is to come back home and invest in young girls with talents in modeling, as she plans to open her own modelling agency in Sierra Leone to give a platform to young models and help put Sierra Leonean models on the international map.
