Magistrate Binneh Kamara of Magistrate Court No 1 said on Monday that he will pass judgment on a Pakistani national, Zulfaqar Ali Bhatti on Friday 4th March 2016 for illegally entering the shores of Sierra Leone with forged visa and illegal documents.
During a preliminary investigation, Zulfaqar Ali Bhatti pleaded guilty to two count charges of entering Sierra Leone without valid traveling certification contrary to section 19 (2) F (1) (A) of the non-citizen registration, immigration and expulsion Act of 1965 and using forged visa contrary to section 36 (1) of Act No. 14 of the Non-citizen Registration and Immigration Act.
According to particulars of offence, the Pakistani national on 28th January 2016 at the Freetown International Airport in Lungi entered the country without valid travelling certificates and on the same date used a forged document on which the Sierra Leone Immigration Department Landing Visa has been forged and these acts prompted his arrest and detention at the Pademba Road Correctional Centre in Freetown.
Zulfaqar’s counsel, I.P Mammie was absent in court while Magistrate Kamara was giving his ruling and adjourned the matter to Friday 4th March for sentencing.
