Sierra Leone’s Supreme Court has granted a request by the electoral commission for the runoff presidential election to be conducted on Saturday 31st March, 2018.
This follows after High Court Justice A.R. Mansaray lifted the interim injunction on the National Electoral Commision to pave the way for the Presidential runoff elections to take place tomorrow March, 27th 2018.
However NEC says it is now technically not possible to conduct the elections tomorrow.
Lawyers representing Sierra Leone’s electoral commission then asked the Supreme Court to allow the runoff presidential election to hold on 31 March instead of tomorrow.
The commission has duly announced that voting will now take place on Saturday 31st March, 2018.
