Hundreds of Sierra Leonean residents and other nationals in Holland are planning a mass demonstration on Friday as threats of mass deportation looms.
Sierraloaded understands that numbers of Sierra Leoneans have been rounded up by Dutch Immigration officials on various charges including illegal stay or entry without valid travel documents. Some however are said to have been siezed by security police for offences relating to drug abuse and trafficking.
Sources said mass deported of these individuals is due to be carried out by the Home Office of the Dutch Immigration department.
Reports gathered revealed that most of those being deported included asylum seekers who had fled during the war in Sierra Leone.
Though the Sierra Leonean Embassy in Brussels have denied claims of working with the European government to deport these Sierra Leoneans, the process of deportation is believed to be in an advanced stage, thus the intention of the ‘victims’ to take to the streets in protest.
