Opposition leader and Presidential candidate of the Alliance Democratic Party (ADP), Mohamed Kamarainba is set to suffer another Bye-Election defeat if results from from Lunsar is anything to go by.
Lunsar can be described as one of the hotbed of the ruling All People’s Congress (APC), in northern Sierra Leone mainly.
Though there were pockets of protests by some supporters, however after the polls which was concluded at 5:00pm today, Sierraloaded correspondent who oversaw the conduct of the election says Osman Karankay Conteh of the APC is leading the polls based on reults as at Press time.
Although the official results has not yet been declared, the provisional results from the biggest polling station in the constituency has set the outcome of the election highly predictable.
A total of 32 Polling Centre’s with 31,306 registered voters were recorded in 2012 for that constituency.
Maria INES Vocational Institute for women, in Lunsar, Port Loko district, which is the biggest polling Centre with 2,634 registered voters with nine polling units, but only 1,125 voted at the Centre. APC Osman Karankay Conteh got 826, ADP Kamarainba secured 277 and the SLPP got 22 and invalid votes were 39.
About 12 polling stations were in Lunsar town with various polling stations raging from Mamasa, Rofainkah, Mabesseneh, Maforki, Marampa, Rogbaneh, Masokoma, Maloko, Rogberay, and ten others with polling booths of about 1 to 7. Sierraloaded is monitoring the collating of the final results.
