Joseph Fizegerald Kamara, the newly appointed Attorney General and Minister of Justice of Sierra Leone had declare his asset to the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday Monday January 11th, 2016.
Speaking to Salone Times in a telephone interview, the former ACC Chief who is now the new Attorney General confirmed last weekend that he will be declaring his assets to the Deputy ACC Boss who is the present acting Commissioner.
He explained that as former ACC Boss and someone who is passionate about the fight against corruption it is prudent for him to declare his assets as prescribed by section 119 sub section 1 of the 2008 Anti Corruption Commission Act.
Joseph Fitizgerald Kamara said that the declaration of his assets will be done in confidence and in the presence of the press.
It could be recalled that last months the President appointed Joseph Kamara as the new Attorney General and Minister of Justice and last week he took leave of the Anti Corruption Commission in a well organized farewell ceremony on Monday 4 January 2016 at the Justice Beccles Davies Memorial Hall.
On Tuesday 5th Januaray 2016, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice Designate took the oath of office at State House, stating that he will work to the best of his ability.
Political observers have said that the action of Joseph Kamara will be an example to many other presidential appointees as there are lots of clean up he will have to do in the law officers department and the judiciary as a whole.
