Chart-topping rap star Michael Kamara, known to fans as Mikar-The-Vipar, has told his fans that he wants them to continuously keep supporting his efforts because he is making music to shed light on Bucks. Buckinghamshire abbreviated Bucks, is located in the South East of England and is the richest county in the entire UK. It has a population of 800,000 plus and barely has any black masses.
Mikar, 24, from Freetown, Sierra Leone, residing in Pond Park, Chesham, is putting the final touches to his highly anticipated debut mini album Truuuuu SaloneBoy EP. Posting on his personal Mikar Kamara Facebook page, the popular emcee said: “Even though detractors have said so many crazy things about me, I remain positive about this region.
“The urban scene is too centralised and other regions rarely get a look into if their not based in London. But Bugzy Malone did it for Manchester, why can’t I do it for Bucks? Supporting does not dampen your own success. Come on guys, lets show the mainstream and big labels that we can do it independently.”
Mikar has amassed a huge social following mainly consisting teenagers and admiring female fans.
The Pond Park based star has performed at the world renowned O2 arena and supported mainstream national and international acts like Chipmunk, Wretch 32, Rudimental and Rita Ora.
The regional star who’s seen by many teenagers as a local hero for his “do it yourself” approach has had three charting singles on the iTunes world chart and last August, he became the Buckinghamshire’s first act to top the iTunes world chart. The husky voiced star remains unsigned and refuses to sign to any label unless it benefits everyone around him. It is hoped that Truuuuu SaloneBoy EP will be available to pre-order on iTunes in the coming weeks.
