John Bangura, Ibrahim Bah, Ibrahim Kamara and Abdul Lassayo were on Wednesday remanded at the Pademba Road Correctional Centre for robbery after a preliminary investigation (PI) presided by Magistrate Abou-bhakarr Binneh Kamara of Freetown Magistrate Court No 1.
The four accused were arraigned in court on seven count charges of conspiracy to commit felony, robbery with aggravation, wounding with intent, wounding, being found at night in possession of house breaking implements and carrying offensive weapons.
According to particulars of offence, on 22nd March 2016 at No 4 Ferenkeh Drive, Hill Station in Freetown, the accused conspired together to commit felony to wit robbery with aggravation being armed with kitchen knives and scissors (giant cutter and crowbar).
On the said date the accused robbed Alpha Umaru Bah and Abubakarr Fofanah of the above address properties worth eight million and six hundred and eighty-eight Leones (Le 8,688,000) and in the process maliciously wounded Abubakarr Fofanah, an employee of Ecobank Sierra Leone.
Abubakarr as prosecution witness explained to Magistrate Binneh Kamara that he recognized all the accused and recalled 22nd March 2016 when at about 2am, while asleep “I suddenly woke up that night when I felt a sharp object hit me on the head. Trying to regain myself I saw 4th accused, Abdul Lassayo holding an iron bar and shouting, where is the money, where are the phones?”
Abubakarr furthered that he tried to stand up but he was pushed by the 4th accused and eventually, he stated, “they made away with my properties, after they had gone my brother together with the complainant Alpha Umaru Bah took me to Connaught Hospital and later I made statement to the police”.
He submitted photos of his wounding and also identified some of his properties in court.
The matter was prosecuted by Sergeant 5984 Isatu Gbassay Fofanah but the accused were not represented and were remanded in prison until the next adjourned date.
