Evidence affirming irregularities in the March 7th Sierra Leone general elections has surfaced.

It would be recalled that the ruling All Peoples Congress (APC) has accused the Chairman and Chief Electoral Commissioner (CEC) of the National Electoral Commission (NEC), Mr. Nfa Alie Conteh of allegedly using a list different from which was published on the NEC website for official calculations.

“This meant that when Mr. Nfa Alie Conteh was calculating the 221 alleged over-voting centers, he was using data totally different from what he had sent to the rest of the world on his official website. The implications of this variance are huge. For example, this disparity casts suspicion on the process that could have led to such widespread numerical errors. It casts doubt on credibility of entire elections results as announced.”, the APC said.

However, new evidence showing some sort of irregularities has been discovered on the same website.

It was discovered that in the local council elections of eastern district – Kono Ward 92, the APC candidate who polled the highest number of votes was not declared winner of the ward’s Councillor seat.

The controversial ward election result which is now being circulated on social media raises questions on the credibility of the National Electoral Commission to conduct the March 30th Run-off election without prejudice or favoritism.
