In a vexed and angry mood, Magistrate Aboubhakarr Binneh Kamara yesterday sent Ibrahim Kargbo to the High Court to answer to allegations and charges of alleged sexual penetration of four underage girls, which incidents happened at Kissy in the Eastern part of Freetown.
Principal Magistrate Binneh Kamara ruled that Police Prosecution was able to adduce sufficient evidence against Ibrahim during the preliminary investigations and based on that he said the accused was found wanting on the charges of sexual penetration involving four underage girls.
“It is my judgment that the accused should be tried in High Court pursuant to the offences as charged and for justice to prevail I commit the matter to High Court for further trial”
It was alleged that Ibrahim Kargbo on 5th June 2016 at Up Water Kissy in Freetown did engage in an unlawful act by raping 4 girls between the ages of 9-10yrs.
Sergeant 7859 Sahr Govomma Songo attached to the Family Support Unit (FSU) Kissy Police, testified in Court against the accused stating that he recalled the 13th June, when a matter of sexual penetration was reported against the accused at the Kissy Police Station.
He said together with DC 10757 P S Conteh they obtained statement from the accused and the complainants and on 18th June charged the accused with the said offence.
Ibrahim Kargbo being committed to High Court was not granted bail and will be remanded at the Male Correctional Centre on Pademba road until his trial.
