OPEN LETTER TO ERNEST KOROMA PRESIDENT OF SIERRA LEONE, MEMBERS OF THE APC MAJORITY IN PARLIAMENT, MEMBERS OF THE SLPP MINORITY IN PARLIAMENT.
I will start off this open letter by stating it’s Conclusion. YOU HAVE ALL FAILED SIERRA LEONE AND CONTINUE TO DO SO BY YOUR ACTIONS. Here’s why?
This morning, I woke up expecting to read something POSITIVE about my nation. Instead, i was treated to reading a summary of a decision on a matter i have been floowing for the past few months. That matter is the Koidu town council v. Koidu holdings. As I understand the decision of the day court, Koidu Holdings does not owe over half a million dollars in property taxes to the municipality that it operates in because by parliamentary fiat, it is precluded from paying taxes.
First let me address parliament. I cannot believe that a properly constituted parliament would allow a company that mines diamonds in the lands that it governs would agree to have that entity to do so without paying taxes. If it is true that you bunch of parliamentarians did in fact vote to allow OCTEA and it’s subsidiary Koidu Holdings to operate TAX FREE, then you ought to be ashamed of yourselves. Many of you are unfit to represent your people and your constituents and this statement is more so true in light of these facts.
To Ernest Bai koroma president of Sierra leone. I am equally disappointed in your ability to lead our nation. You have appointed people of questionable character and integrity to hold very high offices in our nation. Everyone knows that a college degree is not a prerequisite for holding office. However Truth honesty and Integrity are and should be prerequisites to holding public office. Thus I proffer where a person MISREPRESENTS on their resume that they have a college degree. When that statement is not true, then that person should never be allowed to hold public office on the basis of lack of Integrity.
At the end of your administration, when Sierra leone will look back at your time at the helm of our nation, one thing I suspect that they would conclude, particularly many if us that staked our personal and professional reputations on your candidacy, is that you have been a disappointment, a shame and one big mistake. Your agenda for change has given us sir more of the same and even worse. Your agenda for prosperity is a farce and judging by the case that forms the premise of this post, wherein a company is allowed to mine diamonds from Sierra leone WITHOUT PAYING ANY TAXES, said agenda can easily be called AN AGENDA FOR POVERTY.
To the members of the opposition in parliament. I have never had any belief that the SLPP is a progressive party. Your rubberstamping of all illegal acts presented to you by the majority party, has proven that. You are all really a disappointment the to effective parliamentary discuss. You ARE A DISAPPOINTMENT to true governance and the essence of opposition.
To any of you members of my party the APC who believe that my opposition means that I am betraying my party. You are entitled to your opinion. PROVE ME WRONG.
