As the political rift within the Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) continues twenty six (26) Members of Parliament yesterday disowned their Minority Party Leader in Parliament Hon. Bernadette Lahai.
The MPS accused Hon. Lahai and her deputy Hon. Ansumana Kaikai and the Parliamentary Liason, Hon Brima Conteh of actions that have exposed them to “party and public ridicule.”
They further alleged that the trio had high jacked their proposal to the leadership to hold consultations to find solutions to the party’s conflict and problems.
The press statement, from the MPs which was read by the Chairman of the SLPP Media Committee in Parliament Hon. Mustapha Brima ended with two strong resolutions, that:
(1) … condemn in the strongest terms the illegal and unconstitutional meeting convened under the pretext of a NEC meeting and its resolutions thereof; and (2) that Hon. Dr. Bernadette Lahai and her likes are no longer recognized and accepted as our leaders and we shall not cooperate with them and their administration.
